So NASA just bombed the moon, right? We were really excited because Chelsea is teaching Astronomy and the lesson this week is on the moon, so we took the kids over to Stacy's to watch it online. The kids were already thinking about what would happen if the rockets knocked the moon out of orbit and how that would effect the tides and how life would be if we never had a moon again.
Well, the whole thing wasn't as exciting as CNN made it sound... "NASA BOMBS MOON" does sound much cooler than "Two rockets stir up dust on the moon looking for evidence of water vapor at the ice caps..." We were a little disappointed, especially since we had to run through the rain to see it.
But the funniest part...We were walking back to our apartment to finish game night, and Spencer and Manon went out before me, so when I got out there they were staring at the sky. And Spencer said, "Miss Chelsea! They knocked the moon away! We can't see it anymore!"
It was cloudy...the moon, happily, is still safe in orbit around the earth.
Have a good day!
